Not Just a Passion

Dancing: Its not just a passion its a way of life

Last night I went to watch my adorable "little sister" Adrian at her dance competition. When it comes to her dancing I just can't help but smile and soak up every minute of watching her. Every single time I go out to Park Valley she shows me her dances, and we have random dance partys. When I goof off and dance with that girl it reminds me so much of when I was her age and loving every minute of dancing. I still make dancing apart of my life and love just dancing in my bedroom. Or my favorite is dancing in the dark and making me feel like its just me and the dance. Dancing is an expression of life and its something I love doing, its a great way to make me forget about the world around me and just make me feel like I'm just me without a stress in the world. Lately I have been watching old dance videos and can I just say I was a little spazzy dancer but I can still remember the thoughts I had while I was dancing and how much I loved doing it. Every time (since 5th grade I think) I stand in position waiting for the music to start whether its during practice or an actual performance I always take a deep breath and say the same thing to myself:
Darci, Stay strong! You can do it! Show everyone who is watching what you love the most!

I have no idea how many times I have told myself that in my life but all I can say is I've done it so many times its sorta written inside of me! I love dancing, don't get me wrong, its something that I will always love doing! I have learned so many life lessons from all the dance teachers and coaches I have had over my lifetime, I wouldn't take back any moment I was on the dance floor!

9 Years plus a Special Day

Well 9 years ago today was my special day! Its a day that all LDS kids can't wait for! I was baptised and became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I still remember that day. Looking around and seeing all my loved ones there supporting me! Its crazy that its been so many years since that day because it doesn't seem that long at all! I cant wait for the day when I see my children being baptised and being washed away from all their sins. Its a feeling that no one can really put into words when you come out of that water. Oh I just love special days!

17 Forever

17 years ago today I came into this world and can I just say I was very adorable! Now 17 years later I’m living young, wild and free! Today’s my 17th birthday and can I just say I feel like I’m getting old. I just want to stay 17 forever! I’m loving life right now and I love everything that has happened to me the past 17 years! I celebrated my birthday last night and today. Last night with my dear friend Whitney, we had a footloose party, went to Brigham and were just dorks! Then today I went to work, opened presents, went out to eat with my parents and came home and had some dairy queen ice cream cake! Oh I love birthdays!

Angel Lullaby

I haven't been able to get My Turn On Earth songs out of my head all day! I have no idea how I even started thinking of them or started singing them or even remembering the lyrics to the songs! I haven't watched this movie in years, but I absolutely love it! The Angel Lullaby song was always my favorite. I remember when I was little and me and Madison would lay in our bunk beds and just beg  my mom every night to sing us the Angel Lullaby song, then after she would sing it me and Madison loved naming every angel that was in our room (one by our bed, one by the window, etc.) Not gonna lie, when I cant sleep at night I actually sing this song until I fall asleep! I cant wait tell I'm older and get to sing this lullaby to my children. Its diffidently a keeper!

Young Women General Broadcast

So my mom and I got the privilege of going to the Young Women General Broadcast at the conference center. We made a day out of it by going down to Salt Lake City to go shopping and check out the new mall called City Creek. Then we went to the broadcast. Oh how I just loved it! How can you not love being in the same room as the prophet and listening to his voice and knowing that everything the speaker was saying is just like what Jesus would be telling you. I loved every minute of it! I absolutely love Sister Elaine S. Dalton. Her talks always make me think and make me feel the spirit so strong. I am truly blessed to be able to live in Utah and have opportunities like this where I can be in the presence of the true and living prophet today!

Prom Night!

So the big day finally happened! I had been stressing about it for months now because I was prom chairman but I think it ended up being the perfect prom! I honestly couldn't have asked for a better date or a better group! I couldn't help but think that a year ago I was dreaming about this day as I was watching all my friends go to prom and now it was finally my turn. For our day date we did it Friday night and just went to Tanner's church and plays dodge ball, watched a movie, ate food, and basically had a photo shoot :) it was so much fun because it was so laid back and chill. Then Saturday I woke up early to go over to Logan to decorate for prom then came home, got ready, went to promenade, ate at Elements (oh how it was delicious) and then danced the night away! I have to say this was one of the funnest dances I have been to. Just looking around at the decorations and thinking, Wow I did all of this, made it all the more better! All in all it was an amazing night!
Photo shoot anyone?

My favorite is the I am a Child of God block in the center!

Oh how I just love my Bestest Friend!

Me and the birthday girl just being our normal selfs

Lovin Life

Me and Ally shooting pop bottles

The dominating Purple Team!
All I can say is my life has been crazy lately, I LOVE IT!!! Most people would hate it but I am in love with it! Luckily I have just started a new Tri so goodbye to pre-calculus and human biology and hello to lifetime Sports and keyboarding :) this tri is sooo easy! I also have been busy and stressed over Prom! It is only a couple days away and things are actually falling into place perfectly, lets hope it stays that way too! I took an adventure out to park valley two weekends ago and last week I spent it down in Orem visiting my sisters and going to Wolverine Weekend! I loved the college life of the weekend but I was stuck with weird people for wolverine weekend so that was interesting! But lets just say purple team dominated the black team and thats all that matters :) It was fun just hanging out with all my sisters down in Orem that I rarely see!

Valentines Day

I had the BEST Valentines Day anyone could ask for! I had a great day of school all because Kaylee sent me a picture of my valentines card/drawing she drew me. Then off I went to the Lady Antebellum Concert! I drove down with Kelsee and Miranda and once we got to Salt Lake we ate at Crown Burger. It was my first time there and it was diffidently yummy!! Then I met up with my Sister Cami. Cami and Austin gave me Lady A concert tickets for Christmas and its made this the best Christmas and Valentines Day ever! We stood around the Radio booths outside the concert for awhile then finally it was concert time! I swear everyone from Bear River was there but it was a blast seeing my friends! The opening acts were Thompson Square and Darius Rucker. They were amazing but Lady A was even better! I loved this concert and I loved screaming my heart out with my sister! Since it was Valentines Day people making out around us was a little disturbing but that's okay being at a concert on LOVE day was totally worth it! It was fun spending the evening talking with Cami and just having our little heart to hearts! On the way home me, Kelsee and Miranda sang to the Concert after the Concert on the radio and I got home around 12:30 to cookies from Mike (which he has owed me for getting 5 on my quizzes in math for a full week) and also to a valentines present from Devin :) it was seriously the perfect way to end my Valentines Day!

Girls Choice

Yesterday was girls choice! I couldn’t have asked for a better date! I took Devin Kunzler and I seriously had the best weekend EVER with him! For are day date we went on a picture scabanger hunt around town. My group won, woot woot!!! After that we took a journey to Mack’s Family Drive Inn for lunch. Then we went to Moki and Stockton’s house and watched The Longest Yard and played a little X-box!  We went home for about an hour to get ready then everyone came to my house for dinner and dessert! I think the thing everyone liked the most was making up random sentences out of the conversation hearts and giving them to people! Me and Devin started that thank you very much :) We goofed off at my house for a bit, and then danced the night away at the dance. After we went to Kent’s to get drinks and went to Karissa’s house to watch Tommy Boy! Sadly the day was over and everyone went home :( I seriously didn’t want the day to end, it was amazing! I had the best group anyone could ask for and so many good laughs and memories made!
My scabanger hunt group, Ya we dominated!

The best table!

Looking Forward

So a couple weeks ago I was on the phone with one of my dear friends and was having a little chat. My friend told me a quote and I just haven't been able to get it out of my mind...

"You can't write another chapter in your life if you keep reading the last one!"
By this quote it just reminds me to leave things in the past and to look forward. I realize that the decisions I'm making now are for the better and I will be blessed because of it. That even though it's hard and at times I wonder if I really am make the right choice, I know I am doing what will make me happy :)

School Dances

It’s that time of year, school dances are just around the corner. And this past week has been full of asking and answering for Girls Choice and Prom. For Girls Choice I asked Devin Kunzler! Then I got asked to Junior Prom by Jason Weyland! Me and him have had an inside joke for years that we are cousins, so I’m going to prom with my cousin, no big deal :) it is going to be an adventure to go to these dances with both Devin and Jason!
Here is how we asked and answered each other.

The Pinata Jason asked me with. The notes said, If you want to find out who is asking you be sure to make your meetings tomorrow! 9:00 A.M. :)

Kelsee Hancock gave me this at church. I erased a bunch of random boys names to see whose name wouldn't erase. I was a little disappointed when Justin Bieber's name erased :(

I made Jason go to the Hospital information desk and then to the hospital cafeteria to get this! It is a basket full of pink candy.

Turner and Elle helped me decorate Devins room with the little army men. The poster says, "Not even an "ARMY" could stop me from asking you to girls choice" Then I had my name on the bottom of an army guy, if he couldn't have figured out it was me by the plate of cookies he was begging me to cook him, Thanks mom for cooking them though :)

Devin Answered me back by this GI Joe guy.

My answer was written on the parachute.

Mayonnaise

So yesterday for the sophomore fundraiser, we had an assembly. The assembly was different dares. Because I am the nice kind person that I am and love my fellow school/ student council, I agreed I would do a dare. I was the lucky one that got stuck with eating Mayonnaise. It is seriously the nastiest thing I have ever ate in my life. Me and Chase Dennison had to eat it together and all I can say is I was trying SOOO hard not to throw up in front of my whole school! It was the worst thing ever! Luckily the student council realized there was no way we could eat the whole thing and only made us eat a couple big spoon fulls but that was a couple spoon fulls to much! My tummy hurt all day yesterday and the thought or smell of Mayo makes me want to throw up! I don't think I'll be eating to much Mayo anytime soon.

Prudence

Sid and Prudence on one of our road trips!

Oh Prudence, this is when you weren't so fat :)
On Monday my fishy Prudence died! she was so fat and ugly and even though I tried killing her several times, I'm gonna miss her and hope she is having fun swimming in the big fish bowl in Heaven. I'll miss our road trips to Thatcher, not feeding her, over feeding her, holding up a mirror to the fish tank to watch her get mad at herself. I'm also gonna miss telling her my great adventures and stories. She was the only one who knew all my secrets :) haha don't you just love pet fish? As many times that I did try killing her, I loved that fishy!

My Roller Coaster Life

I feel like the biggest slacker!! I can’t believe I have neglected my blog for this long, it is so unlike me and I feel terrible. All I can say is my life has been one crazy and wild roller coaster lately! I don’t even know where to begin on everything that has happened! So ill just give you a quick over view on what has happened in this past month and a half!
I skipped school to go to Salt Lake with my Parents. We went Christmas shopping and went to see the lights at temple square. I took the ACT and got a 20. Next ACT though it is gonna be pure domination! I froze at the Garland City light parade and did a pretty good job throwing glow sticks and candy canes, I may or may not have accidently hit someone in the face, Woops! I have screamed my heart out at boys and girls basketball games and I even took an adventure to the dentist (trust me it’s like my favorite thing I do every 6 months!) I GOT ENGAGED!!  Yup me and Zach Roberts got engaged on our date to temple square. I went on another date to temple square with Jason Weyland and he opened my eyes to yummy Panda Express and we showed everyone our mad ice skating skills. Sidney became my sister for the night at my work Christmas party, and I actually got higher than a 30 on bowling and beat Sidney! I have taken a couple adventures over to logon with my friends. Lost my voice screaming at the Clearfield HI-Stepper competition as they took overall sweepstakes, Ya I still love my team!! I have been kicked out of Kents and almost McDonalds. Made Texas Brownies with Miranda and let’s just say I have no idea how to cook. Taught my G2 YW how to have a party and cheer loud during church ball! I’ve even had the best Christmas and New Years EVER!!! I spent Christmas with my amazing family, and I loved Christmas afternoon cause everyone was together! New years was super amazing as I spent it out in Park Valley! I have taken 2 trips out there since I last blogged and all I can say is I never thought I could fall in love with such a small and little town like that one! Every time I go out there it’s a new adventure and opens my eyes to something new.  I love everyone I have met and it’s seriously like a giant family! I dread the thought of coming back home to reality. I would rather spend my days taking down Christmas lights in the bucket of a tractor, driving on the wrong side of the road, eating Racheale’s delicious food, watching movies with my bestest friends, staying up super late, having a crazy confetti fight, going to the best town parties, playing hide and go seek in trucks and even get a little dirty and do chores :) I love it out there!
That’s basically been the fun adventures of my life lately besides all the homework I have had (Pre Calculus is seriously like the death of me), Work, Planning Prom, Planning the Ward Christmas Party, Garland City Youth Council, church, and just every little thing I  get asked to do! But what can I say, I love life right about now even if it’s a crazy roller coaster!
