It's Time to Begin

I sit here astonished! Where has time gone? I still feel like a Kindergartner tripping on my shoelaces coming in from recess or I feel like I am in 1st grade and getting one of my pig tails cut off with scissors from one of my friends. Now I sit here over a decade later in my own apartment, in a different town, with a HS diploma and years of knowledge and growth behind me. Now is my TIME TO BEGIN, it’s my time to become who I have always wanted to become, it’s time to figure out the real world! Some may say I am trying to grow up to fast by moving out of the house and over to Logan the day after I graduated, but I am a determined person, I want to go places in life and I am not going to just sit around tree town for a whole summer and waste away precious time that I could be learning and growing! Trust me in just two weeks I have learned so much already. So here is my cheers to a new beginning, cheers to discovering who I really am, cheers to taking courage and just getting out there, cheers to my past and everything it has sculpted me into being! It’s time to take a stand, it’s time to become who I have always wanted to be, it’s time to grow up but hold close to the inner child in me, IT’S MY TIME!!!!

Last Dance..EVER!

Last weekend was the good ol Red and White dance. Yup the very last dance of my high school career and if I do say so myself it was a success! Kasee Alex asked me and it was a riot. I seriously am so thankful he was such a trouper with my INSANE work schedule, crazy dance moves and random stories (for those of you who know me know I have plenty pointless stories I like sharing). For the day date we went 4-wheeling. I originally thought I would have to work all day and would miss my day date. But luckily I got to leave work  6 HOURS EARLY cause they were so understand and so I met up with my group up in Malad for the adventure. In between breaking the clutch on our 4 wheeler and Malaki and Celestral going off a cliff I think it was a pretty successful date! After we came back to tree town for dinner. It was the Tremonton Fire department Stake Fry so we ate there. Then Kasee took me home, I got ready and off to the dance we went. We went to the awards assembly first (yup i actually got an award i was pretty happy!) then we danced the night away at the dance. Umm ya lets just say me and all my friends have mad dancing skills, be jealous! After the dance was over we decided to have an after party in the Maverik parking lot, get freaked out at the park while we were swinging and then went spent the night finding whatever  random thing we could think of. Thank you so much to Kasee for asking me, even if one of the most embarrassing moments of my life was getting caught while answering him back! hahaha oh the memories!

18th Birthday

It is official, I am the big 18 now! On April 21st I turned into an adult. I am proud to say I can officially go to jail, buy dry ice, get a tattoo, and buy things off the TV! Yup hold me back I am just that cool!

My birthday was great, I got to spend the weekend starting work at Golden Corral (yup I finally got a job thank goodness!) then I spent the rest of it partying it up with Miss Sidney Toone, seriously I miss and love that girl. It was so good seeing that lovely lady and catching up. My birthday weekend was great, it was sorta just a normal typical weekend but dang I feel old knowing I am actually 18 now!

Spring Break...HOLLA

Last week was spring break. My parents and I took a journey to go visit Madison and Mickey Mouse in the Happiest Place on Earth in good ol'  Orlando Florida! I was so ready to get out of tree town and actually enjoy myself. Lets just say I was in desperate need of a break. Once we got to Florida the heat and humanity immediately made me fall in love, I'm so sick of winter! We met up with Madison and it was nice to see her. We spent the week visiting all the different parks. We went to Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Universal Studios. I am not a big fan of rides. I would rather spend my whole day sitting on a bench people watching. But needless to say my family forced me to go on quit a few. I love the immediate Disney atmosphere that is there, the dreams that are floating threw every persons mind and the music that plays through out the whole park. Not gonna lie I even LOVE the smell (yes I did just say that). Passing Princesses, Characters, and even having Spider Man run right passes me just made me feel like a little kid again wanting ALL of their autographs. At the end of every night I loved watching fireworks, Fantasmic, and parades. It all just seems so magical and perfect. One day we had a lazy day. We went to Animal Kingdom that morning but spent the afternoon going to the Orlando Mission home to drop off a package, then off we went to the Orlando Temple. Needless to say I was kinda bugged by how different but  similar doing baptisms for the dead was. We spent 2 hours in the beautiful temple, unlike 20 minutes it took me in the Brigham temple the week before. The work was the same and that's all that matters. I loved being in the temple and  getting to be in a The Lords House that I haven't been in before.  By the end of the week I didn't want to go home. I will have to say Disneyland is better than Disney World but I still didn't want to leave. The only thing that was calling my name to come home was no more fast food, no more toilet paper that felt like sand paper, no more humidity that made my hair go CRAZY, my amazing bed, and knowing everything I touched a million peoples germs hadn't touched it first (yup call me a germ-a-phoebe). But now that I have spent a week back into reality I need a vacation again, anyone up for Hawaii, a cruise to the Caribbean or a trip to England!?
Oh you know just loving us some Florida <3
We are always buddies when we are in amusement parks. We do people watching like pros
"We're not from London ya know"
Orlando Temple
Battle of the sisters or battle of the phones...My case is  better though :)
Celebrating graduation and my birthday month at the happiest place on earth...I  THINK YES!
Shout out to my friend Jody....Best Missionary in Norway I am positive!
I may or may not have a slight obsession with Cars
Hogwarts really made me wish I was a wizard...Harry Potter Land was the BEST part about Universal, even if the ride made me a little sick

Valley View Granite

After a year and a half of working at Valley View Granite yesterday was my official last day! It was a bitter sweet moment. I loved working there; I loved the people, how relaxed it was, how easy of a job I had, how they were willing to work around a high schoolers schedule. I loved how we would tease each other each and every day! How every time I passed Bryce he will yell, "SHUT UP DARCI" or "GROW UP DARC" then how every time I was around PO he would pester me, he would put me in a head lock, stick his fingers in my ears and basically treat me like I am his little sister. I loved going out to the shop, Daryl would yell "HELLO LADY!" And franticly wave while everyone else looked up from their project, smiled, say hi, and wave as I would pass by. I love how the job gave me time to sit and reflect on my life, it gave me my thinking time! ha I loved how whenever I had a question Blaine would be so nice and willing to help me. My job made me fall in love with granite. I better marry someone rich cause I already have my dream kitchen all picked out! Overall it has taught me work ethic, working as a team, having a boss, noticing what needs to be done and doing it, and how to treat people with respect even when they arent respectful back. I remember my second day of work getting chewed out over the phone, I was about ready to cry! Then Blake and Bryce both called the guy back and chewed him out for me! It was only my 2nd day and they already were sticking up for me and telling me I needed to stick up for myself! I LOVE ALL MY CO-WORKERS! Working at Valley View have been quit the adventure and a blessing in my life! I have loved it!

Inspired

Ever since I was in about 4th grade I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life inspiring people and making a difference in the world. It just seemed like part of my nature and that is all I really wanted to do. Whenever someone asked me what I wanted to do when I grow up the first thing that popped into my head was motivating others. Of course I would say something like being a social worker or being a psychologist but being a motivating leader is always what I have dreamed about doing. I wanted to change people’s lives. I have spent 8 years trying to figure out how and I still don’t have an answer. But I know somehow, someway it is going to happen.
This past weekend I have spent it as YCC (Youth City Council) Conference. It was more fun than I can even put into words. I love Garland City Youth Council, we are THE BEST!! But as I sat there for 3 days listening to people inspire me about being a leader and making a difference in the world I have had more motivation than ever before that NOW IS MY TIME TO MAKE THE DIFFERENCE! I often ask myself a simple question, “What would I do if I wasn’t afraid of failure?” This question almost haunts me. It keeps me awake at night. I am a dreamer, but I let failure stand in my way of fulfilling my dreams that seem almost impossible to accomplish. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “You must do things you think you can’t!”
Since the summer before my freshman year I have had a dream and HUGE desire to go do humanitarian work in a 3rd world country. This to me seemed impossible, out of reach, and at times really scary. But NOW is my time to take action. Summer of 2014 I am fulfilling my desire; I am spending my summer helping those who are less fortunate than I am. I remind myself daily to BE BRAVE! Life can be scary but if you are brave you can do wonders. In my opinion the secret to living is giving!
Everyone is who we are and go through certain experiences for a reason. We all have great things to accomplish that only we can do. We were born at the right place at the right time for a reason! You never know what you can do to help another person. Have no doubt that you can do things other people can’t. One determined person can make a significant difference. Our best focus at this very moment has the potential to put us in the best place for the next moment. Never give up on what matters most in your life, don’t let bad days turn into bad weeks! There are so many amazing things in the future, make a difference in the world! Over the past couple years I have been inspired to make a difference by so many people. Inspire others, stand out, and always remember YOU MATTER!
Things got a little Cray Cray at YCC with these two!

Representing Garland well...We are the BEST!

Sister Elaine says it better than anyone else :)

It's My Life

Well lately I truly have been loving my crazy life! Life has been
Crazy Fun: in between going on dates, basketball games, school dances, becoming an aunt again and causing chaos in a small little town.
Stressful: finding where to live next fall and how I am going to get money for school. Darci + Scholarships = failure.
Spiritual: My dear friend Perla got baptized! Crazy to think my freshman year I gave that girl a Book of Mormon and now she is actually a member :)
Annoying: Being a teenage girl stinks when you have boys who don't get the hint you aren't interested.
Nerve racking: I seriously pray so hard I can pass my Math 1050 class. I do NOT want to take that class again.
Basically every other emotion you can think a teenage girl could have...I have it, but I am loving it!
Here is just a little recap of my AMAZING life that has been happening lately, Sorry I have been slacking at keeping updates on my blog. I am just staying busy "Living the Teenage Dream" :)
Day at the State Legislature with Garland City Youth Council. Senator Hatch shook my hand and put his arm around me. Plus I went onto the floor with Rhonda Menlove. I am kinda a big deal what can I say

Me and Perla! Her baptism was amazing. Words can not express what I feel about this experience

Spent a weekend with Sid. We went and watched state drill and relived the glory days on Hi-Steppers

Meet Baby Easton Richard Erickson. This my friends is my adorable nephew. We have already decided we are best friends and I am the favorite aunt (he even peed on me to prove it)

I spent a weekend in St. George for my dear cousin KC's mission "homecoming" He let me tag along and hang out with his friends. I cant wait to go to USU in the fall with him, he is pretty much amazing and I loved hanging around and talking to him.

What school concise of when you are a senior...or what school concise of when you try to soak up every minute of a class that isn't a college class

Umm I'm not quit sure what to say about this....What happens at Youth Council, stays at Youth Council

Basketball games!! Seriously my favorite! I loved screaming in the student section and cheering my Bears on. We made it to 2nd in State this year. I am so proud :)

Girls Choice with my "Cousin" :) another successful and fun dance with him
Senior Ball with Nick. We by far had the best group around!
