Attitude is EVERYTHNG!!

The more and more I think about life the more I realize how great of an impact attitude has on life. Attitude to me is more important than the past, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do. It will make or break just about anything. The remarkable thing is we have the choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. WE ARE IN CHARGE OF OUR ATTITUDES!
Lately I have been thinking a ton about attitudes. How every little thing you do or say can change your day and how people react to you all because of your attitude towards certain situations. Even when your feeling down and not in the best mood just remember ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING!! If you have a happy/positive attitude it can change every little thing and make you SOOO much happier! Trust me lately I have needed a little attitude reminder so thank you President Uchtodorf for the quote I needed to hear!

Over the 4th of July I got to take my bestest friend in the whole wide world to Island Park with me! It was Karissas first time to Yellowstone so it was so much fun to see her reaction to it all! We had some crazy times thats for sure. From staying up late taking crazy pictures of ourself, to visting the park, to fourwheeling to swimming in the river! Oh lets just say what happens at the cabin, stays at the cabin!! Oh we had some good laughs we will just say that :)

A Friendly Reminder

<3 <3 <3
So the other day I was talking to one of my dear friends! This friend I tell almost everything that is happening in my life and they always say the perfect thing. So I told my friend how it was Devin Jensens birthday and everything that was on my mind because of it: how much I miss him, our memories, my worries of loosing a child when I'm older and the thought of loosing another friend. I mentioned how much my life has changed since the day he died and how I am the person I am today because of it. It was basically like a major overload of my thoughts all at once! Luckily my friends a trooper and didn't care. They said something I have heard a million times but it hit me inparticullary when they said it. They said "Darci just be grateful that you had the time here that you did to be his friend! And now you have a guardian angel looking over you! And remember that you will get to see him again one day!" I have heard this a million times and I know it to be true but it's so nice to have a reminder sometimes to set my life back on track and just be an eye opener to what my life should be like! I love days like that where I just think and ponder what's most important in my life!
I came across this picture today and I couldn't help but laugh so hard! I remember like it was yesterday Dev struggling with swearing us into Stud. Co. Oh the memories of this night :) I loved coming across a picture with Dev in it :)

The Family I Love

So today I just couldn't help but think about how much I truly do love my family. I love each and every one of them in their own unique and individual ways. I love my dad. He is the man who can do anything. I love his example of what I want my future husband to be like. I love how he is the mighty hunter/fisherman, amazing boss, caring bishop, and the fantastic comedian. I love how this man can do it all, from squishing all the spiders and fixing broken necklaces to being the only boy in a household of girls. He is someone who listens and will give you the best advice and tell you exactly what you need to do/say, even if you don't want to sometimes. I love how he is a priesthood holder and I couldn't be more thankful that I have that in my home. I love my Mom. She is my best friend. I love her amazing cooking, doing my laundry, and I even love watching her sit on the couch and read her scriptures often. I love the women she is. I can only wish and dream I can be half the lady she is. I love her willingness to help everyone she comes in contact with. I love how she is a shoulder to cry on, person to listen to me, and a person who wants me to do the best I can in everything I set out to be. I love my sister Courtnie. I love her strength and testimony that just shines off her. I love her desire to never give up. I love her determination to reach for what she wants most and will do everything she can to accomplish her goals. I love how I feel she is like a second mom to me. I love her support and her passion. I love Dillon. I love his energetic personality and his love he shows to Courtnie. I love his crazy personality and the face he gets when he talks about snowmobiling, fishing or hunting. I love the fact that he sorta makes me feel like I have an over protective brother sometimes. I even love how much he loves pie. I love Cami and how she is just like me. I love her clothes, shoes, and her willingness to share everything she has with me. I love how she could be my twin and how I feel I'm so much like her. I love her determination, creative mind, and optimism. I love how I can call her at midnight balling my eyes out or frustrated beyond believe and she will be there to calm me down. I love how much she has helped me in my life. I love Austin. I love him for his determination and mind set. I love how he is so smart and when he sets his mind to something he gets it done. I love how when he was in high school he tried to be friends with me, even though I was Cami's annoying littlest sister. I love how smart he is and how he pushes himself for what he wants, I wish I was more like that. I love him for how he loves Cami and is the father to my amazing little niece. I love Kennadi. I love her for the curiosity she brings to my mind, I always wonder what she will be like, her personality, looks, just everything. I love the thought of having a niece and even more I love the thought of our family getting bigger and bigger. I love Madison. I love her for putting up with me. I love her for every time I see her she makes me laugh. I love the she has such a fun personality and is always trying to do what she is supposed to do. I love how there is never a dull moment with her. I love how when we were in high school together she was always there for me. I love how if a boy hurts me or breaks my heart, trust me she will not like you!!! I just love her for who she is and how she wont change that no matter what or who she is with. I absolutely love my family and couldn't have asked for better people to call mine. I Love how we are all sealed together for eternity and how my parents raised us in the church. I love how we will always be there for each other no matter what!
I love you Dad, Mom, Courtnie, Dillon, Austin, Cami, Kennadi, and Madison!

Daddy's Day

Happy Fathers Day to the best dad I could ask for! Words can't even describe what I think about this man! I hope that someday my husband can be half the man my dad is! He is so loving and caring to everyone and I admire him a ton! He is the best support there is and spends hours on hard bleachers watching my dance competitions and I never hear him complain. He is an amazing neck less fixer, spider killer and a good laugh when you need one. Even when its 6 in the morning this man has way to much energy and can make you laugh in a heart beat. I love how he can give me a Priesthood blessing whenever I need one and is so strong in the church! He seriously is amazing in so many ways! Love ya daddy, sorry I was the worst colicky baby when I was little and a run for your money now that I'm a teenager! :)

Fairytale Weekend

Well as most of you know I jumped back into my 5 year old set of mind this week and ewwed and awed over all Princes and Princesses! Yes, I went to Disneyland! :) My parents, me and Madison went just for a little vacation. The whole time we were there me and Madison kept saying how much we wished our Hunt cousins were here to eat Disneyland pickles with us, be the first ones to enter and the last to leave the park and also get yelled at my the lifeguard at the beach. But even with just my parents and Madison it was still so much fun! I love feeling like I'm a little kid all over again and getting excited over riding the Winnie the Pooh ride or passing Mickey or Minnie and wanted their autograph! Oh I just love Disneyland and it truly is one of the happiest places on earth. I have so many memories of the place and no matter how old you are it never gets old :)

I Still Know Who She Is

So I came acrossed this cute story at spirituallythinking.blogspot.com It made me want to make sure I find a cute husband that if anything ever happened to me in the future he would be right by my side through the thick and thin!

"It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80′s arrived at the hospital to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. The nurse took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer’s Disease. As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now. I was surprised, and asked him, ‘And you still go every morning, even though she doesn’t know who you are?’ He smiled as he patted my hand and said, ‘She doesn’t know me, but I still know who she is.’"

Graduation Blues

So its finally happened. The day I have been dreading for months....Graduation! I haven't wanted graduation to come at all this year all because I am losing some of my closest friends! Yes I understand its not like I'm never going to see them again, but I wont see them every day anymore :( I even have to say goodbye to all my Park Valley friends for the summer and it makes me sad just thinking they are 80 miles away from me! Graduation day was great. I don't even think you could consider me going to school that day. I just hung out with all my friends, helped Karissa pack up her room in town, and then to Logan to meet up with Devin's family and the Thompson's for dinner at Gaucho Grill. At dinner I was brave and tried a chicken heart. Ya I'm proud to say I actually swallowed that thing! Then we went to graduation and I watched some of my best friends start a new chapter in my life! They all make me so proud :) All through graduation me and Karissa kept looking at each other and saying "THIS IS US NEXT YEAR" and it was so unreal to me. It still hasn't hit me yet that in one year I'm gonna start me life and be the one to throw my cap up in the air and say I DID IT!! After graduation me and Karissa took a journey to Park Valley and had the most amazing talks ever :) Gol I just love that girl! All in all it was a great/sad day at graduation!
Zipping up Karissa's suit case helping her move back home for the summer!
Me and my so called twin Kaylee at Graduation!

Cabin Fever

Well I took a little vacation to Island Park this weekend. Nothing like a constant snow storm at the end of May! The mountains were beautiful covered in snow! It was nice seeing my grandparents, Courtnie and Dillon and just being lazy for a couple days. I started to get a little cabin fever though by not being able to go on walks and smell the fresh mountain air because of the snow!

Sid-To-The-Knee & Daaaci

This past weekend I got to spend it with my dearest friend Sidney and her familia. They moved a couple months ago and I diffidently have missed them! It was nice being with one of my best friends again and having crazy adventures, good talks and crazy shopping adventures :) I think we just might need to go to a shopaholics anonymous class!

Red and White

How Devin asked me
This weekend was the Red and White Dance. Devin Kunzler asked me and it was so much fun! I always love getting asked to dances and getting to answer them back. For our day date we went up to Malad and went four wheeling. It was a really pretty place. After the four wheeler tipping on us, Jody and Josi's four wheeler "Over Heating", snow ball fights, and carving our names in trees, it was a blast! After four wheeling we had a bomb fire, cooked hot dogs and tried to get the crazy old lady to come out and yell at us! It was such a fun date! Then Saturday Devin picked me up, we met up with our group and went to Logan to Texas Roadhouse. While we were there we even faked it was my birthday so I could ride the saddle and get ice cream :) we came back to tree town, watched the sunset, then went to the dance. After the dance we went to Baileys house and had a fire. while we were there we even caught her grass on fire, oh it was insane! All in all I had one of the best weekends of my life with some of my best friends and I especially had the best weekend all because of my amazing date Devin!
The fairytale book I made for Devin

On top of the mountain we went four wheeling on

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to my amazing Mom!
Thanks Lady for all you do for me!

Washington DC

So I have to admit I have the best parents in the world! They took me to Washington DC last week and can I just say I love seeing different parts of this world. We took our journey to DC with the Munn's family and lets just say when the Packer and Munn's get together its an adventure! I loved all week being a tourist (We diffidently looked like one too) and just seeing the different monuments and museums I have seen in pictures and heard about my whole life! I especially enjoyed this vacation because I have learned about most of the sites in my History class this year! So Mr. Stamps teachings actually made sense to me when I could see it all in real life! With getting patted down during security at the airport on the way there, and my bag searched coming home, I was ready to be home. For my own bed (Madison you are a terrible person to share a tiny bed with) and seeing my friends!

Not Just a Passion

Dancing: Its not just a passion its a way of life

Last night I went to watch my adorable "little sister" Adrian at her dance competition. When it comes to her dancing I just can't help but smile and soak up every minute of watching her. Every single time I go out to Park Valley she shows me her dances, and we have random dance partys. When I goof off and dance with that girl it reminds me so much of when I was her age and loving every minute of dancing. I still make dancing apart of my life and love just dancing in my bedroom. Or my favorite is dancing in the dark and making me feel like its just me and the dance. Dancing is an expression of life and its something I love doing, its a great way to make me forget about the world around me and just make me feel like I'm just me without a stress in the world. Lately I have been watching old dance videos and can I just say I was a little spazzy dancer but I can still remember the thoughts I had while I was dancing and how much I loved doing it. Every time (since 5th grade I think) I stand in position waiting for the music to start whether its during practice or an actual performance I always take a deep breath and say the same thing to myself:
Darci, Stay strong! You can do it! Show everyone who is watching what you love the most!

I have no idea how many times I have told myself that in my life but all I can say is I've done it so many times its sorta written inside of me! I love dancing, don't get me wrong, its something that I will always love doing! I have learned so many life lessons from all the dance teachers and coaches I have had over my lifetime, I wouldn't take back any moment I was on the dance floor!
